Reindeer Trail Runs




  • Saturday December 1, 2012 - 9:00 am   
  • 10K Run/Walk and 5K Run/Walk
  • Packet Pickup: Race morning at Race starting at 7:30 am.
  • Parking: Sacramento County Parks charge a $5 fee for entry into the park. There will NOT be a ranger at the entry. You will have to use the self pay. If you do NOT, you will be subject to a ticket and fine!
  • The course is run on the Trails of Ancil Hoffman Park.
  • Hanes Cotton shirts for 5K/10K runners/walkers pre registered. Tech Shirt option instead of Cotton additional $10(until 11/16/12). Late/Race Day Runners & Walkers not guaranteed shirts.
  • Awards will be given to the top three athletes in 1-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
  • Award Ceremony will follow the event*** Must be present to win awards/prizes! No awards available for pickup or mailing after event.
  • Post Race Food
  • Adult 5K/10K Run Walk- $30 on or before 11/2; $35 from 11/3 & until 11/29 & $40 Race Day.
    Student(18 & under) 5K/10K Run Walk- $20
    We also ask each runner/walker bring at least 1 can of non perishable food for the local Food Banks!
  • Course Description: The Reindeer Trail Run 5k/10k. takes place on the marvelous single track trails within the park of Ancil Hoffman. A trail commonly used by runners, hikers, horseback riders and of course, the ever presence of wildlife will be the staging for the event. The 5k course will Start/Finish in the meadow just shortly after enter the park.

    Participants will begin by running or walking the perimeter of the meadow to the far north-side were they will join up with the trailhead to begin the loop. The trail is mostly flat except for a few rolling sections through mile1-1.5, before coming to the first aid station. The trail winds through large oak trees and near the Beautiful American River before leading runners and walkers back to the finish. 10K Participants will do 2 loops of the course.
